Choosing to Become Eye Doctors in Columbus Ohio

We’re all fortune to live in Columbus! Widely viewed as one of the best cities in the Midwest to live, our city has a lot to offer. Nadine and I are both from outside of Columbus; Nadine from a suburb of Dayton, and I from Tampa, Florida. Why did we choose to build an eye care center in Central Ohio? Simply put – we love it here!

After my undergraduate studies at Florida State University, I came to the Ohio State University School of Optometry, one of the oldest optometry schools in the country. The first month I was in Ohio, just before starting school at OSU, I went to see Dr. Petrov in Bexley. I loved the office space he had, the location and the very personal experience he offered. I had no idea I would end up taking over his practice 8 years later.

By the time I graduated from Ohio State University, we knew Columbus was the place for us. Even for a Florida State Seminole, the draw was just too much. OSU is a great university too, and Columbus is a fun, comfortable place to live. I can play hockey in rec leagues and watch the Blue Jackets live while being close to two NFL and MLB teams, enjoying awesome Triple-A baseball right in downtown and all the OSU teams.

Family Eye Care in Columbus

One of our favorite things about Columbus, and Dr. Petrov’s approach, is that so many people live with a focus on their family. As we’ve built our optometry offices in and around Columbus, we’ve done so with that same focus on our family spending time together. And we want visits to our eye care centers to be the kind of experience we would want for our growing family.

After graduating from OSU, I started building my eye care practice at a LensCrafters in Springfield, Ohio. When Nadine graduated two years later, she started practicing at LensCrafters in Lancaster. We soon found that our LensCrafters locations were not family-friendly places to work, and not the kind of patient-focused practice we wanted. I left to take over Dr. Petrov’s practice in Bexley, and Nadine later left to open Breslow Eye Care Lancaster in Carroll. Both moves have given us, and our patients, the family-focused business we wanted.

Why Eye Care in Central Ohio

For us, leaving a large national chain to open eye care centers in central Ohio meant being able to make time for our own family, and creating a good experience for your family. We are able to offer more services for a thorough eye exam while still offering a huge selection of eyeglass frames and contact lenses. I remember how I felt at Dr. Petrov’s optometrist office, and I’m very pleased that we’re able to offer the same kind of service in the same very cool office space he had in downtown Bexley.

With our own private eye care offices in Carroll and Bexley, we’re able to offer products we believe in and that will best correct our patients’ vision care needs. We can also get to know people more individually and grow with our patients.

Better Eyeglasses and Better Care

Our own private optometrist practice means we can offer so much more in terms of service and product. Our range of eye glasses and other products is far beyond what we were able to provide before. We know you wouldn’t want to be limited to what an eye doctor is able to offer if a better solution is available elsewhere, so we make sure you have access to the very best eye care products available – with no limitations!

We’re both very grateful to be living in the Columbus area and building our family, and our optometry offices in Columbus. There are several optometrists to choose from in central Ohio, and we know that. But if you’re about family like us, and we’ve found that so many people are, we’d love to be your eye doctor here in Columbus. Our comprehensive eye exams, vision solutions and welcoming atmosphere mean you won’t be giving up a thing when you come “see the difference!”
